In fact, the body on the Phicen figure in this review is so realistic that I left her partially clothed for most of the pictures. The skin-like covering on these dolls can make their bodies look startlingly real in some photographs. What makes Phicen figures unique is that they are extremely well-articulated, but they're also "seamless"-meaning that they have very few visible joints. I also lurked around on the information-packed forum, " One Sixth Warriors." After all of this research, the company that stood out to me the most was Phicen. In my quest for this ideal action figure, I spent a lot of time browsing BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth and several of the big manufacturer's websites. With all of these things in mind, I set out to find a 1:6 scale action figure with a good blend of articulation and realism. I also admire how action figures can have such realistic faces, and both my Daryl Dixon figure and S éverine's Avenger's Black Widow are great examples of this.

This flexibility can come at a price, though-some of the figures I've purchased (like my Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Otaku figures) have unsightly joints and/or bizarre, exaggerated proportions. One of the reasons I'm drawn to action figures is that many of them have excellent articulation and balance. I am a relative newcomer to the world of action figures, but lately this style of doll has become increasingly appealing to me. The weather has certainly made my week strange-with a mix of snowed-in days and hectic catch-up days-but I did get the chance to spend some time with a very unique action figure doll that I've been admiring for quite a while. I very much hope that all of my fellow New Englanders are faring well in these storms. I think Maine has had 25-30 inches of the stuff over the last few days.with more to come. • Haphazardly draw small cracks over the white base using a precise eyeliner brush and a black eyeliner (again, I used the Make Up For Ever Flash Palette for this).
  • Paint the “doll” portion of the face with a white base, ideally a white face paint but I used the white in the Make Up For Ever Flash Palette.
  • Draw over the sketch lines with black eyeliner to darken them.
  • Blend along the light sketch lines with a cool or neutral coloured contour powder like Make Up For Ever Artist Color in S-116 to create depth.
  • Also, I penciled in my eyebrows with Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil, blended the Make Up For Ever Artist Face Color in S-116 onto the eyes, lined the upper lash line with the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner and finished off with a light coat of Dior Pump N Volume Mascara on the upper and lower eyelashes. I applied a touch of the Make Up For Ever Artist Color in B-210 onto the apples of the cheeks. I used the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation as a base and concealed under the eyes with the Hard Candy Color Correct Cushion Wonder Concealer in Peach.
  • Apply your everyday makeup the “skin” portion.
  • Lightly sketch out the “cracked” outlines with a black eyeliner like the Annabelle Skinny Gel Eyeliner in Black Onyx.
  • All the things required for a quick and easy Halloween makeup look. It looks cool and there’s not much to it. The “doll” portion is everything else – a white base with black detailing.

I did my everyday makeup but you could go glam with a cut crease or get creative with a colourful smokey eye. There are two parts to the cracked doll makeup look. Other than that, all you need is your everyday makeup, an eyeliner and eyeliner brush, contour powder and a blending brush. The cracked doll makeup look can be achieved without any fancy schmancy tools or products, though you might want to pick up a white face paint from the drugstore if you don’t have on hand. And in the spirit of Halloween, it’s time for a few easy Halloween makeup looks. It’s October, which means it’s time for all things spooky, creepy and supernatural – Halloween.
